Adel Bugeja Radwan presents his work on using ResNeXt-101 with transfer learning to detect lung pathologies. With a background that bridges both medicine and computer science, Adel brings a rare perspective to medical AI and demonstrates how technology can support earlier and more accurate screening.
Jonathan, an experienced IT executive with over a decade of leadership in enterprise technology, explores the future of biometric authentication. His project investigates EEG-based technologies to move closer to a stable, universal authentication system, combining his professional expertise with a personal passion for pushing the boundaries of science and innovation.
Mohammed Grech introduces his research on natural language processing for the Kurdish Sorani language, one of the world’s low-resource languages. By comparing machine learning models for digital media classification, his work aims to improve information retrieval and accessibility for underrepresented communities.
Together, these three projects highlight the incredible breadth of machine learning applications. From improving healthcare outcomes, to securing digital identities, to breaking down language barriers, their research shows how data and AI are shaping a better future. This event is a celebration of curiosity, innovation, and the next generation of ideas in machine learning.

Through a career that has covered both the public and private sector, this talk will describe 4 very different data visualisation projects that have each taught me different things about the power of presenting data.
Alan Smith is the Head of Visual and Data Journalism at the Financial Times. He leads the FT’s newsroom team of data reporters and visual journalists. A data visualisation specialist, his TEDx talk Why You Should Love Statistics was featured on TED.com in 2017. Alan is the author of How Charts Work, a handbook on designing with data using the FT’s principles. He is also Honorary Professor of Practice at UCL’s Social Data Institute.

Mr. Myers is the founder of the Conformed Dimensions of Data Quality (CDDQ) and has been a thought leader in the Data Quality space for over 10 years.
